The pension joins several large North American LPs that have considered or already sold more than $1bn of private markets exposure this year.

The semi-liquid fund aims to provide ‘diversified access to high-quality private growth companies’ through direct and secondaries, per a statement affiliate title PEI has seen exclusively.

Tori Buffery has left Nicola Wealth to join Neuberger Berman’s secondaries investment team.

Buyers on the deal include Coller Capital, Apollo S3, CVC Secondary Partners and Hollyport Capital.

Rolling investors into the new fund include Partners Group, HighVista Strategies, Committed Advisors and Hollyport Capital, according to a statement.

ASP VIII attracted over 325 global investors across pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers and other types of LPs.

The fund, which is already larger than its predecessor, is expected to close in 2026 and exceed its $7bn target.

The fund has collected $365m, which is nearly double its launch target.

The firm this week said it had raised $5.5bn for the market’s largest infra secondaries fund.

NewView spun out of Silicon Valley venture giant NEA in 2018 through a deal backed by Goldman Sachs and Hamilton Lane.
